Program Philosophy
The Children's Campus (CC) believes that in order to create a safe learning space for children, a trusting relationship between the child, teachers and family needs to be fostered.
Professional teaching staff intentionally create stimulating and nurturing environments that enhance and support children's development and individual strengths.
Children are supported in developing strong social-emotional skills, independence, and respect for self, each other and the community. Children's feelings are validated as they develop their sense of self.
Children are empowered to take risks while pursuing their intellectual endeavors. As active learners, children investigate and explore the world by using their senses as they work together with people and materials.

Curriculum
The Children's Campus follows a play-based emergent curriculum model. Activities and materials are chosen by teachers to reflect the children's interests and developmental goals. Developmental goals are created based on the teacher's knowledge of child development theory, research and practice.
Observation and teacher reflection informs the planning of curriculum that is engaging, interesting and challenging. Independence and a strong sense of self are the primary goals for each child.
We believe children construct their knowledge by having hands-on experiences with natural materials. Teachers facilitate this exploration by providing real elements of the environment for the children to discover. This interaction between the child and the world is where learning takes place.
